Benefit Advisors Network Announces Private Exchange Partnership

CLEVELAND, OH (08/28/13) --- In response to the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Benefit Advisors Network (BAN) – a national network of progressive and independent employee benefit firms – has partnered with Liazon, operator of the Bright Choices Exchange®, to deliver a private exchange solution to their clients. Employer clients will be able to offer this exciting new online marketplace to their employees.

“Employers will work with their BAN member to design and implement a defined contribution model where through a choice of plans, an employee can choose the benefits that best fit their health, financial, and risk profile,” said Perry Braun, Executive Director at Benefit Advisors Network. “Our private exchange partnership will allow employers to activate plans and carriers that fit the employee benefit strategy that our BAN member and employer decide on.”

Continued Braun, “ It will also operate as a fully functional web-based benefits administration platform to handle all enrollment, eligibility, carrier data feeds, and reporting.”

The Bright Choices® Exchange is an online benefits store that is changing the way employers and employees buy benefits. Bright Choices allows employees to personalize their benefits package with a selection of health, dental, vision, life, disability, and other benefits from top national and regional providers. Award-winning decision support and education helps employees make smarter benefits selections.

“Progressive partners like BAN are looking for new solutions to bring better benefits options to their clients. The Bright Choices Exchange helps businesses control costs while increasing employee satisfaction – a rare combination,” said Michael Karp, Liazon’s Chief Revenue Officer.

The Exchange Partnership will allow the network’s members – already established as the ‘best of the best’ in the employee benefits/group insurance industry – to continue to stay on the forefront of customer service and product offerings. BAN is continually looking ahead to respond to the changing landscape of the health insurance industry by providing its members with tools, products and resources to help them not only compete, but succeed in today’s market.

About Benefit Advisors Network

Founded in 2002, BAN is an exclusive, premier, national network of 47 independent, employee benefit brokerage and consulting companies located across the United States. BAN delivers industry leading tools, technology, and expertise to member firms so that they can deliver optimum results to their employee benefit customers. BAN’s members, known as A Smart Partner partly because of their highly collaborative interactions, are screened prior to being granted membership to ensure they distinguish themselves from their competitors through their knowledge of the industry, ethical approach, business acumen, and strategic vision.

To preserve and enhance the intimate level of sharing between the Smart Partners, BAN intentionally limits membership within a given geographic market, and all members share a contractual arrangement that is the keystone to their collaboration. Without the worry of competition, this model creates a true peer community of highly skilled and innovative firms, promoting and enabling a level of best practices sharing and collaborative interaction that is simply unavailable at any other organization.
