Conferenced Focused on Launching BAN 3.0
CLEVELAND, OH (2/2013) --- Benefit Advisors Network (BAN) focused their recent Semi-Annual Educational Conference on the re-launch of the organization, BAN 3.0. The conference was held February 10-12, 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona, with a meeting of the 46 member firms that make up this national network of progressive, independently owned employee benefit brokers and consulting firms.
Approximately 140 attendees shared in the conference. These were BAN owners and key executives as well as vendor and carrier partners. The main focus, “Why BAN 3.0?” demonstrated how it will change the organization, and avenues for growth that it will bring to each member firm.
Another significant topic on the agenda was the continued impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) as well as the 2012 election and how health care reform will affect employee benefits in the future. In addition, Stacy Barrow from Marathas, Barrow & Weatherhead LLP provided a compliance update, and a compliance-related panel discussion was held so members could learn from each other how to handle health care reform and its impact on clients.
“BAN 3.0 is intended to look beyond the current disruptive potential in health care reform, and to prepare for the future model. We are equipping our members with an expanded platform of services that are essential to fulfilling the role of trusted advisor.” said Perry Braun, BAN’s Executive Director. “Our member firms have been stocked for some time with the tools and resources to address health care reform on behalf of their clients, and we will continue to build upon that as Washington releases guidance. But to really be effective as trusted advisors, we need to be strategic in many other areas. BAN 3.0 will ensure our members are equipped for a multitude of innovative directions that might benefit their clients.”
Benefit Advisors Network’s next conference will be held in August 2013 in Cleveland, OH. Member agencies on the planning committee are already looking at innovative concepts in Wellness, Compliance and Marketing that are vital to attracting and retaining quality clients.
