New Members Part of Great Growth of Benefits Brokerage Network in 2011

CLEVELAND, OH (5/9/11) --- Seacrest Partners of Savannah, GA, and AKT Benefit Advisors of Salem, OR, are the newest members of Benefit Advisors Network (BAN), the premier national network of employee benefit brokerage and consulting firms. They join other new 2011 members: Sequoia Benefits (San Mateo, CA), Gregory & Appel (Indianapolis, IN) and DeWitt Stern (New York, NY) in expanding the network to include more than 40 member agencies nationwide.

"The addition of both Seacrest Partners and AKT Benefit Advisors to Benefit Advisors Network reinforces our commitment to adding top quality members,” said Perry Braun, Executive Director. “Our members are looking to each other to share their knowledge and expertise in order to ensure that they are the best of the best in their regions. Each member added to the network brings experience and intellectual capital that builds the strength of BAN member agencies ."

Seacrest Partners was established in 2006 to meet the market demand for a privately held, specialty brokerage firm that is capable of managing large, complex insurance and employee benefits needs. Focusing on their mission to earn the right to be a trusted advisor and advocate for their clients on all matters related to human resource and property casualty risk has enabled Seacrest Partners to grow their business significantly in the past five years. Working with clients in a range of industry and professional services sectors and varying workforce sizes, the team always strives to exceed both the expectations of their clients and business partners.

"With each of our associates having at least 23 years in the insurance industry, Seacrest Partners has experience and talent beyond the traditional agency,” said Steve Eagle, Managing Partner. “We are looking forward to the collaboration with other BAN members. Sharing best practices, as well as the resources available to BAN members will be invaluable."

Founded as a CPA firm in 1973, AKT purchased benefits-only Beyrouty Insurance in 2004 to form AKT Benefit Advisors. After the merge, the business tripled in growth within eight years. Providing benefits consultation that is holistic in approach, AKT Benefit Advisors helps their clients achieve their goals on levels described as personal, local and global levels. They stay close to their clients on an individual level; understand their business in their local communities, and have a global reach with their strategic partners and clients.

"We had great success growing our CPA practice through a similar membership for CPA firms,” said Jason Beyrouty, Principal and Producer. “We are interested in gaining knowledge in many areas including leadership, running our firm and particularly what other good firms are doing."

About Benefit Advisors Network

Founded in 2002 by five agencies, BAN is an exclusive, premier, national network of independent, employee benefit brokerage and consulting companies. They deliver industry leading tools, technology, and expertise to member firms so that they can deliver optimum results to their employee benefit customers.  BAN’s members, known as Smart Partners partly because of their highly collaborative interactions, are screened prior to being granted membership to ensure they distinguish themselves from their competitors through their knowledge of the industry, their ethical approach, their business acumen, and their strategic vision.

To preserve and enhance the intimate level of sharing between the Smart Partners, BAN turns away more candidates than they accept - ensuring its member firms are the best of the best in their market – and are peers with the most progressive and innovative employee benefit consultants and brokers from throughout the entire country.
